ACE SPOTLIGHT

We Have Bees!

In a special assembly ACE announced an installation of an observation bee hive in the library. It  is so exciting! Tami Enright, owner of The Bee Cause Project in Charleston, and Tim Dover, bee keeper, will install the bees and explain the project to the students.  We got the idea when Lee White, 5th grader, wrote his teacher a persuasive essay for the PTA Reflections Contest about the benefits of having a bee hive at school. The assembly was covered by local news stations and can been seen at the below times:

Augusta Circle Needs Volunteer Mentors

Mentor Greenville is a local program for students who need extra encouragement and support.  Volunteers are matched with one student for the school year. Mentors are asked to commit 30 minutes per week to meet with the student at Augusta Circle, which can take place during breakfast or lunch. If you are interested in helping with this program, please contact Patti Rushing at 355-1204 or prushing@greenville.k12.sc.us.
