The PTA Mission The Mission of our Parent Teacher Association for Augusta Circle Elementary is to: •Support and speak on behalf of children in the schools, community, and before organizations that make decisions affecting children. •Assist parents in developing skills they need to raise and protect their children. •Encourage parent and public involvement in our nation’s public schools. We encourage each parent to join the PTA. Your participation, big or small, is significant! |
Congratulations to ACE students and teachers! The results of our state school report card are as high as they can be! Both our Absolute Rating and our Improvement Rating are Excellent. These ratings are based on Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS) results for 2010—2011 measured against target levels of performance. Target levels increase every year. We also met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) by meeting 19 out of 19 objectives. Thank you to parents, teachers, and students for all of your hard work. Well done!!

Congratulations to Pam Craig, Augusta Circle’s nurse since 2005. Mrs. Craig was recently named as Green- ville County School’s LPN Nurse of the Year for 2011— 2012.
Congratulations to Meg Plexico, Augusta Circle’s Teacher of the Year for 2012—2013. Mrs. Plexico is in her fifth year teaching at ACES. She currently teaches second grade and has previously taught fourth grade.
We are presently recruiting members of the Executive Board, committee chairs, and committee volunteers for the 2012—2013 PTA year. If you would like to nominate someone (or yourself) for a position, please contact PTA Co-Presidents Elect Alison Pitts (apitts315@gmail.com, 631-1520) or Elliott Grow (grow.elliott@gmail.com, 282- 9090). It takes a wide range of talents and interests to make this a great school! We encourage you all to get involved.
Join your friends for Augusta Circle’s first “Parent Spirit Night” hosted by The Trappe Door in late January (date TBA). Find a sitter and enjoy a night of good company and great food. The Trappe Door has generously offered to donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to Augusta Circle’s PTA.
Mark your calendars for Friday, January 27 at 8:30 a.m. for “The Big Chill”, a special performance by the Au- gusta Circle Second Grade classes. Students will be assigned their parts (speaking, singing solos, instrumen- tal, dancing, etc.), and begin learning them in mid- December. We have many opportunities for volunteers to help including:
●auditorium decorations
●helping to “dress” the students
for the dress rehearsal and per-
formance
●producing paper programs
●taking pictures of rehearsals
and backstage
If you are able to help the last two weeks of rehearsal, contact Becca Jopling, 230-5627, jopling@bellsouth.net.
